I’m Shyanne Sweet and that handsome cowboy is Rattlesnake Whiz.  We have been married since October of 2001. Rattlesnake and I met on the internet of all places! We had both just gotten out of bad relationships and were in a divorce support chat room. I was the shy one over in the corner, Rattlesnake was the ‘Casanova’ of the room!  Little did he know he was looking for love in all the wrong places, as when this Shy and Sweet little cowgirl walked in the room the Rattlesnake was corralled.

It was quite by chance that we met, this was my first time ever in a chat room, I was scared to death. As I was sitting there watching the chat room I noticed something out of the corner of my eye run across the kitchen. As I turned to look I saw a HUGE wild animal run by, I typed in to the chat room ‘HELP there is a HUGE wild animal loose in my house!’  Shooter (as Rattlesnake was known in the chat room) said to me “get your gun and shoot it” to which I replied “I don’t own a gun! I’ve never even shot a gun!” So thus the conversation began, with him telling me about guns and the awards he has won shooting.  I will say this, he was very pesistant, it took the poor cowboy about a week to even get my name out of me, then another week to get my phone number. A couple of weeks after that we met for the first time and it was love at first sight.

Since that time Rattlesnake has introduced me to guns. Our love of shooting brought us to become SASS members. We went to our first SASS match in the fall of 2003 and have been hooked ever since. We go to the NRA range in Raton New Mexico every year, where I shoot the big guns with the big boys and have a blast. We also attend the OWSA match at the NRA range in Raton every June, which is a FUN time, 32 stages of cowboy shooting over 4 days !

What about the “HUGE wild animal” you ask? Well it (a cute little chipmunk) was safely ‘shoosed’ outside, back through the doggie door from wince he came, with a twinkle in his eye knowing he had brought the two of us together forever.
